NEW HEALTH &#038; SPORTS PROGRAM FOR YOUTH 12-17 IN BROOKLYN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-title\"><em><strong>HealthJox LLC<\/strong><\/em> is pleased to announce that <em><strong>Mayor Adams, Governor Hochul,<\/strong><\/em> and the <strong><em>Department of Youth and Community Development <\/em>(DYCD)<\/strong> has granted HealthJox LLC a portion of the announced $4.2 Million in State Grants to Support Youth Team Sports across all 5-boroughs.\u00a0 <em><strong>Dewry DuRoi Bradford<\/strong><\/em>, <em>CEO of HealthJox LLC<\/em> launched his health &amp; sports program &#8211; funded by the DYCD beginning <em>July 1, 2024.\u00a0<\/em> After the highly anticipated 7th annual <em><strong>HealthJox Festival, <\/strong><\/em>the program will commence on <em>Saturday, August 3, 2024,<\/em> at <em><strong>Philippa\u00a0Schuyler\u00a0Middle School<\/strong> <\/em>to provide youth ages 12-17 with team sports and mental health programming.<\/p>\n<p>Headed by <strong><em>Nathifa King<\/em><\/strong> <em>&#8211; Program Supervisor and Mental Health Coach &#8211; <strong>Kayla Swindell,<\/strong><\/em> HealthJox will address the <em>mental health &#8211; self-discovery<\/em> for all youth to begin their personal healing.\u00a0 The first 30-minutes will consist of breathing and workout exercises by personal trainer <strong><em>Temaine Pelzer, <\/em><\/strong><em>followed by 30-minute breakout mental health sessions with certified mental health coach, <strong>Kayla Swindell<\/strong>.<\/em>\u00a0 The next hour will focus on <em>basketball<\/em> headed by <strong><em>Coach Lamont Kirton<\/em><\/strong> along with head coaches &#8211; <strong><em>Zak Solomon-Miller, Rodney Pierre;<\/em><\/strong> Assistant Coaches &#8211; <strong><em>Alisia Pierre<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Rodney Pierre, Jr.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and <strong><em>AirOdart<\/em><\/strong> clinic hosted by <strong><em>Coach Ted Gustus<\/em><\/strong> and the AirOdart Coaches: <strong><em>Asani Kai KudoVault<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Jackson Bartley.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>The final hour will allow for free games and skill application.\u00a0 HealthJox will run, 3on3 and 5on5, games so that attendees will learn how to apply their newly learned skills to the actual court.\u00a0 Content creation by <strong><em>Mykela Moore;
