Cuomo today announced that starting Tuesday March 12 at 8 a.m., New Yorkers 50 years of age and older will be eligible to receive the vaccine. 103,425 doses have been administered across New York&#8217;s vast distribution network in the last 24 hours, and more than 1 million doses have been administered over the past seven days. More than 1.65 million doses have been administered through New York mass vaccination sites and FEMA sites to date. Delivery of the week 15 allocation begins mid-week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"chapters\">\n<div class=\"field-collection-container clearfix\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-chapters field--type-field-collection field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"chapter toc active\">\n<div class=\"field-item even wysiwyg overview\">\n<div class=\"field-collection-view clearfix view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"entity entity-field-collection-item field-collection-item-field-chapters clearfix\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">&#8220;We continue to kick vaccinations into overdrive throughout the state by expanding eligibility, establishing new vaccination sites and allowing providers to reach new populations. More New Yorkers are getting vaccinated every single day, but we still have a long way to go before defeating the COVID beast and reaching safety,&#8221;\u00a0<strong>Governor Cuomo said.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;New York&#8217;s distribution network is at the ready to\u00a0handle an expected increase in supply, and we&#8217;re excited to expand eligibility even further to New Yorkers over the age of 50 as we move to get through the COVID-19 pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">New York&#8217;s vast distribution network and large population of eligible individuals still far exceed the supply coming from the federal government. Due to limited supply, New Yorkers are encouraged to remain patient and\u00a0are advised\u00a0not to show up at\u00a0vaccination\u00a0sites without an appointment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov\/\">&#8216;Am I Eligible&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0screening tool\u00a0has been\u00a0updated\u00a0for individuals with comorbidities and underlying conditions with new appointments released on a rolling basis over the next weeks. New Yorkers can use the following to show they are eligible:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">Doctor&#8217;s letter, or<\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">Medical information evidencing comorbidity, or<\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">Signed\u00a0certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Normal DocDefaults \">This news means that wherever there is a COVID vaccine event, if you are 50 years of age or older you are automatically eleigible to take the vaccine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Andrew M.
