Fusion East Caribbean Soul Restaurant, located in the Spring Creek section of East New York, launched the Fusion East Food Truck by providing 155 meals to the Emergency Room staff at Brookdale Hospital.
Fusion East had plans to launch the truck some time in April, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the need to provide
meals for hospital staff in the area, the owner Andrew Walcott, decided to unveil the truck earlier.
“At this time we know emergency room staff throughout New York City are providing 24 hour care to patients, which means they don’t have much time to think about themselves, ” stated Andrew Walcott. “The Fusion East Food Truck was already prepared for an April unveiling but we decided to put it on the road early in order to bring meals directly to the people who are on the front line of this pandemic.”
The Fusion East Food Truck menu is based off of the Fusion East Restaurant menu but has an Executive Catering Chef who specializes in Cajun, Creole, French, Southern BBQ, and Classic American Cuisines. The chef is responsible for customizing the menu for private clients and different events that are geared towards a diverse clientele and patrons.
